Cultural Note

Deliverance, a film (1972) by British director John Boorman. Based on the novel by James Dickey (1972), it is the story of a canoe trip through the Appalachian Mountains undertaken by four city businessmen. The journey turns into a struggle for survival when the men are exposed to unexpected dangers and harried by sinister mountain people.
